HOW TO GET TO LIEPAJA?
BY PLANE
The nearest international airport is Palanga (PLQ) approximately 60 km from Liepaja. Direct flights to Palanga are available from Copenhagen, Oslo, Riga, London, and Dublin. From Palanga, you can get to Liepaja by taxi or shuttle bus. Shuttle buses will be organized upon request, so please indicate in the conference registration form your arrival time and whether you want to use shuttle services.

The other option is to arrive via Riga airport (RIX). Riga airport is located approximately 200 km from Liepaja, but there is a good public transport connection between the two cities. BY BUS OR TRAIN
There are regular bus services connecting Liepāja with some of the larger towns and cities in Latvia and Lithuania – Riga, Ventspils, Kuldiga, as well as Palanga and Klaipėda. A passenger train runs twice a week between Riga and Liepaja. The passenger train Riga-Liepaja goes to Liepaja on Fridays and Sundays, and from Liepaja to Riga – on Saturdays and Sundays. BY FERRY
For those who want to travel by sea, taking a personal car with them, two ferry options are available:
1.) Swedish ferry operator “Stena Line” offers fourteen trips every week between Liepāja and Travemünde (Lübeck, Germany). The route is serviced by ferries “Stena Gothica”, “Urd” and “Stena Vinga”, offering to travel in comfortable cabins with or without your car.

2.) Choose Ventspils Ferry Port, about 120 km from Liepāja, if you are traveling from Nynäshamn (Sweden). Stena Line is the largest ferry operator in Europe that operates a regular ferry line from Ventspils Port to Sweden. In line Stena Line offers both freight and passenger traffic. BY CAR
Come to Liepaja by road from any direction. The distances are short enough to conveniently make your way to Liepāja without difficulty.
Riga-Liepaja: highway A9, 220 km
Palanga-Liepaja: highway A11, 60 km
Ventspils-Liepaja: highway P111, 120 km
In addition, there are a number of transfer companies that can provide transport services to or from Riga to Liepaja.
PARKING
There is both paid parking and free parking in the center of Liepaja. Some free parking spaces have a maximum time limit, indicated on nearby street signs.
Free parking will be available at the NBC2023 venue – Liepaja Latvian Society House. Guests staying at Hotel Liva or Promenade Hotel Liepaja will have free parking right next to the hotel.

There are several paid parking spaces in the city center that operate their meters Monday through Saturday from 8:00 to 18:00. Signs indicate the spaces where you must pay. Parking in these spaces is free for the rest of the day, as well as on Sundays and holidays.
No payment is necessary when your vehicle is parked for 5 minutes or less.
Persons with disabilities can park for free at any time with a special permit that must be clearly visible on the dashboard.
Parking fees:
20 minutes – €0.30 (minimum amount to pay)
1 hour – €0.50
Every hour after that – €0.50
